All The Hidden Truths by Claire Askew

This is a fact: Ryan Summers walked into Three Rivers College and killed thirteen women, then himself.

But no one can say why.

The question is one that cries out to be answered – by Ryan’s mother, Moira; by Ishbel, the mother of Abigail, the first victim; and by DI Helen Birch, put in charge of the case on her first day at her new job. But as the tabloids and the media swarm, as the families’ secrets come out, as the world searches for someone to blame… the truth seems to vanish.

A stunningly moving novel from an exciting new voice in crime, ALL THE HIDDEN TRUTHS will cause you to question your assumptions about the people you love, and reconsider how the world reacts to tragedy.

My Review of All The Hidden Truths

This book centres around the aftermath of a college shooting. The story is told from three different character point of views and done really well. We have Moira, the mother of the man who shot dead all the women students before killing himself, we have the mother of one of the victims, and we have detective inspector Birch.

The writing is excellent and the emotions are real. It’s a raw, emotional, book that makes you ask questions and that leaves you thinking long after you’ve finished reading. The journalist creeping around, asking questions is done so well and the way the press surround Moria’s house, the death threats she received. It’s all so real and so well written.

I loved how the book delved deep into the characters and the stories of each family and it really is a page-turner with more than just a college shooting. It’s a book that I will be recommending and one that I know I will be adding to my bookshelves. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.

All The Hidden Truths is available now in ebook and paperback from Amazon and all other retail outlets.

Until next time,

Keep reading and writing,

Amanda
