Stolen Identity Part 1

It’s the first of December and time to begin the countdown to Christmas with 2 free serials running on my blog from today right through to the 24th of December. First up is Stolen Identity. This story is set in the year 1890 and takes place in an asylum in the UK for the rich and wealthy upper-class society. Below is the blurb so you know what to expect over the coming 12 days. The full story is just under 15,000 words so each morning I’ll be posting approximately 1,250 words that you can read with a cup of tea or coffee.

11 Creative Writing Editing Mistakes

Last week, I listened to a wonderful talk that discussed creative writing editing mistakes that writers make. The talk was held in the Inkslingers Den Facebook Group which is a great resource for writers. The talk was given by Angela James, a professional editor who worked for Carina Press for over 10 years. As I watched I took notes and decided to share her 11 editing mistakes here on my blog too.

How to Create Character Profiles Part 3

Following on from part two of creating character profiles, here’s part 3 of how to create character profiles. As you know, I’m writing these posts as I work on creating characters for a new series I hope to start next year. In today’s post, I’m going to look at fleshing out my character using the Marcel Proust Character Questionnaire and some more questions I’ve found online. Below is the image I’ve found for my main character.Character Profiles Female

A Memoir For World Mental Health Day #worldmentalhealthday2019 #worldmentalhealthday #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

Today is World Mental Health Day and anyone that knows me, knows how much the subject means to me and why suicide prevention is a topic close to my heart. To try and remove the stigma and encourage everyone to talk, I’m sharing a very personal memoir here on my blog this morning. It’s called The Sun Will Shine Once More, and I would be so grateful if you could share it across social media and with anyone you think might benefit from reading it.
