I finished reading The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert last night and I loved it. Below you will find the book details followed by my review. This book is one of the best books I’ve read so far this year and if you like dark fairy tales and fantasy, this is a must-read.
The day has arrived and the Breaking the Myth Anthology has been released. This is a big deal for me and I’m so excited to share this book with everyone. Not only does it features NYT Bestselling authors, it also includes my new Novella, Hear Me Cry. Below you will find information on all the stories as well as buy links.
As I settle back to work for the New Year, I’m also looking at marketing for writers. Yep, it’s my dreaded subject, but something that every author has to look at. I’m even groaning at the thought of writing this blog post. I’m a writer, not a marketing expert and contrary to what all the sites tell you, it’s bloody hard. Hours upon hours of learning to use the different social networking sites, coming up with a plan that may or may not work, touting for reviews, trying to get your Facebook posts noticed, and much, much more.
It’s the new year. 2018 has arrived. Can you believe 2017 went by so quickly? Today is back to normality for me. The kids are back to school, Joe is back to work, and I begin my own client work too after a lovely two-week break. I thought I’d start my blog this week by taking a look at my writing goals for 2018 and looking back over my 2017 goals to see what I managed to accomplish.
I love the Visual Verse website. Every month they have a picture prompt and writers are asked to submit a 500-word piece based on the picture. Your objective is to give yourself an hour and then submit the piece using their online form. I find this a really useful creative exercise and have had a number of pieces published on their site. The picture prompt for December resulted in a poem called Lost Perfection which is now live on their website.
On Saturday morning I woke up to some fabulous news. Save Her Soul, my paranormal romance novel, has been shortlisted for the BooksGoSocial Reader’s Choice Book of 2017. To say I’m thrilled is an understatement. My book was shortlisted out of over 300 great titles and I am truly humbled to be chosen.

Where Have I Been?
My blog has been left sitting for quite some time. In fact, my last post was back in October and now here we are at the start of December, the final month of the year. I didn’t disappear or throw in the towel. In fact, I’ve been writing and I’m so excited about this story that is coming in January 2018.
Modern Retelling of The Banshee Coming Soon
I am absolutely over the moon to be able to tell you that Finding Forever has won the Summer Indie Book Awards 2017 in the Thriller Category. I still don’t know how this happened. Okay, I do because it’s thank to everyone that voted, but it is something I never imagined happening when I picked up my pen last year and decided it was time to follow my dreams. Finding Forever was my first ever fiction piece and to have it pick up an award is just mind-blowing. I’d like to thank everyone who voted for my romantic suspense novella. You have no idea what this means to me.
This week has been amazing. My book Finding Forever has been nominated in the Summer Indie Book Awards for 2017 and voting began this week. To add to that, yesterday I received notification that my book Save Her Soul has also been nominated for an award in the Virtual Fantasy Con Awards 2017. I’m so blown away by this and truly humbled that my books have been nominated for awards. To celebrate I’m reducing both my books to 99cents for the month of September. This is your chance to read them if you haven’t already done so.
The Finish the Phrase Hunt begins today and is set to make September an exciting month for readers and book lovers. What is the Hunt?
