Fiction Book Publishers Accepting Submissions

As writers, especially those looking to break into the traditional publishing arena, it is important to keep an eye on the publishers that are accepting submission. Below I have information on two different publishers that are accepting submissions for fiction books.

The first of these is Barbarian Books. They are an ebook only traditional publisher and they pay 70% royalties. They don’t charge any fees, ever. They publish original genre novel length fiction including: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Romance, Mystery, Westerns and Cross-Genre. They require completed novel length manuscripts and they are always open to submission. You can find all the details on their website: http://www.barbarianbooks.com

The second publisher is Starcherone Books. They are a non-profit small press that publishes three books a year. One of these book is the winner of their annual blind-judged contest. Starcherbone Books are looking to publish and build audiences for innovative fiction. They do offer their authors a small advance of up to $1,500 and they keep the titles they print available indefinitely. You can find their current submission guidelines here: http://www.starcherone.com/submit.html (Their submission period was during the month of September 2013 but their annual contest is open for all those who wish to enter. This is the 10th Annual Contest. The deadline for the contest is February 15, 2014.

There are a lot more publishers out there and as I become aware of them I will continue to post them here.

Hi Amanda. TCK Publishing is also accepting submissions on a fiction genre.

TCK Publishing started as a small independent publishing company in 2011. Today, it is an international publishing company specializing in mass market trade books. They publish fiction and non-fiction eBooks, print books, and audiobooks in all major genres and niches.

TCK’s mission is to help our clients earn a full-time income from royalties. They do this by creating a comprehensive publishing and marketing strategy unique to each book and each author. We also pay authors 50% royalties—that’s about six times more than the average traditional publisher pays.
