Self Healing – The Power of Your Words

In my last article I discussed self healing in general and in this article I want to take things a step further and focus on one of the ways in which you can heal yourself.  In this article I want to discuss the power of words; your words.

Words are so powerful and the words you speak about yourself have the power to transform your health and body.  Affirmations are words that you speak in the present tense that can help to heal your body and change your life.

Have you ever noticed the effects of your words?  Take for example, if you say “I feel terrible”.  Have you ever noticed that you actually do feel worse?  Now what if you were to say “I feel great”, try this and notice the difference.

As you can see, words are really powerful and the words you choose to speak about yourself are the words that can change your life.

When it comes to illness and disease (dis-ease) you can heal yourself and you can do this by using your words.  Positive affirmations are a great way to do this.  You use these positive statements every day and within weeks you will notice the difference.  Try telling yourself that you feel great and see how you feel.  Whenever anyone asks how you are instead of saying ok or not too bad, try saying great.  Do this for a week and see the difference it makes in your life.

Affirmations can be used by everyone for everything.  If you have ever read anything by Louise Hay then you will know exactly what I am talking about.  In her book “Heal Your Body” she lists all the ailments and diseases and then explains how they come about in the body and the affirmation that you need to say to release them.  This really is very powerful stuff and if you want to improve your life and heal your life, affirmations are a great way to start.

Below is a list of some healing affirmations that you can use to get started.  You can say them out loud or silently but you should say them repeatedly for approximately ten minutes each day.  You can even write them out and carry them with you.

  • I am perfectly healthy in body, mind and spirit.
  • I am well and I am strong and healthy.
  • All the cells in my body are strong and healthy.
  • I am healthy, happy and radiant.
  • I radiate good health.
  • I have all the energy I need to accomplish all that I wish to do.
  • My body is healed, restored and filled with energy.

You can create your own healing affirmations.  All you have to remember is to keep them in the present tense and repeat them often.  Your words really do have the power to heal and starting off each day with some positive affirmations is an amazing habit to get into.  We all have the power to choose how we feel and to choose how our body functions so why not choose to feel your best and have your body functioning at its optimal.
