Success is something that we all want and in recent years we have seen a change in mindset as being the key component mentioned by many of the top success stories. Scientific research has also shown us that our mindset can directly influence our chance of success.
Jack Canfield’s book The Success Principles: How To Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be, a 2003 best-seller selling over 700,000 copies, proves that people want this information, they believe it and they are seeing results. In his book, Jack gives readers 64 principles for success, in this article, we will focus on the three principles that will ensure success in any career.
1: Be Positive
This really can’t be stressed enough. If we don’t feel positive about the prospects of our success how can we achieve it? We have to feel positive and believe that we can succeed no matter what our career choice. In an interview with the Huffington Post [1], Jack Canfield explained this by saying, “believe anything is possible and leave the complaints department.” What he is saying here is that we have to believe in ourselves and believe that we can do it before we will ever achieve it.
2: Take Action
If your ideal career is to be a nurse, doctor, writer, whatever, you will need to take action to make it a reality. What skills will you require? Find out and then take action by pursuing them.
3. Don’t Be Afraid to Fail
Fear can often stop us from even trying. Winston Churchill once said “success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm”. When Michael Jordan was asked about his success, he said “I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” The bottom line is, if you never try you will never succeed.
Success is something that we all strive for and if you remain positive, take action and feel the fear and do it anyway, you will see the results. When asked about these new findings on success, Life Coach, Wendy Tomlinson [2] said “having a successful mindset really does make a difference and in my work I have seen that my clients really start to see success as their mindset changes from negative to positive.”
Success is there for the taking, but most people are too afraid to reach for it. This is why their dreams never become a reality. Don’t let your fears stand in the way of your dreams. Reach for success, see it, feel it and eventually you will have to have it.
