My Year in Writing 2016 – Here’s What I Wrote

my year in writing 2016

This post is dedicated to my year in writing 2016. I have to say, this was a great year for me, especially my personal writing. In fact, I’m a little bit blown away by the amount of writing I have completed. I’ve always dreamed of being a writer but never got around to giving this dream priority.

Take The Time To Celebrate Your Accomplishments

celebrate your accomplishments

I have taken the day off work today to celebrate.  My daughter, Emma, aged 12 attended an awards ceremony this morning and I have to admit, I am beaming with pride. Emma and her entire class took part in the Navan Education Centre Write A Poem 2016 competition along with other schools from Co. Meath and Co. Louth.  She won the female entry for her school and we were invited to attend the award’s ceremony this morning where she was presented with a certificate and a copy of the published anthology that features her poem and the picture she drew to accompany it.

Increase Productivity In Your Workspace

increase productivity

It is the end of the second week in January and for many of us, things are back to normal.  We have settled into our work routine and are probably looking forward to the next holiday or break.  January is always a month that starts with great intentions, but these tend to slip after the second or third week. This is why looking at how to increase productivity can be so helpful, especially at the start of a new year when we have so many new goals to focus on.

Health Happiness and Hope for 2016

2016 New Year

2016 has arrived. I hope it has been good so far for everyone reading this. 2015 was a year filled with clarification and new beginnings. I feel as if I finally found myself and the life I want to live. I found focus, motivation, and belief. It was a year filled with eye opening moments and realisations, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I am excited to see what 2016 is going to bring.

My Thoughts On The Hay House World Summit 2015

I know that I have been quiet for the past week or so but that is because I have been so busy. I had lots of client work which is always a good complaint and I have been listening to all the amazing interviews in the Hay House World Summit 2015. This is a free event that ran over the month of May and featured 100 interviews with Hay House authors and speakers. It was fantastic and there was so much information to absorb. There were some great movies to watch too and I enjoyed these every evening. If you are a fan of Louise Hay or Dr. Wayne Dyer you will probably have heard of this event and more than likely spent a great deal of time listening to all the wonderful interviews just like I did.

On Synchronicities and Letting the Universe Work for You

synchronicities

I am a big believer in synchronicities. In fact, I am always on the lookout for them and I acknowledge and write them down whenever I notice them. Of course, the more I pay attention the more I notice them. I have been reading about the Law of Attraction since 2008 and through the years I have immersed myself in so much information that sometimes I think my brain is like a huge, old library. I remember reading long ago that synchronicities are your acknowledgement that the universe is listening to you. The problem is that most of us don’t take the time to notice them. We are so quick to say I want this, I want to that, please help me with, show me the right direction to take, etc., but we aren’t watching for the answers.

On Transforming Limiting Beliefs Into Positive Statements

positive affirmations

Today I want to talk about limiting beliefs. We all have them and there are some very common ones that I want to look at. These common limiting beliefs can hold us back in life and what I want to do with this post is give you some ideas on how to transform the limiting beliefs into positive statements or positive affirmations.

On The Self Esteem Triangle

Self esteem triangle

I was reading an excellent post this morning about the self-esteem triangle. It made so much sense that I decided to blog about it today. It is written by Will Aguila, M.D., “Dr. A” who is also a motivational speaker, author, and host of “The Dr. A Show”. The article itself can be found at http://www.jenningswire.com/health/wellness/the-self-esteem-triangle/ and is well worth a read.

On Books That Stir The Emotions

quotes on reading

I love to read. That’s probably a given seeing as though I like to write, but I do love a good book. There are some amazing authors out there and self-publishing has brought even more of them to the forefront. I am never without my kindle. It comes everywhere with me. I love how small and neat it is as well as the fact that it can hold thousands of books. I own a paperwhite edition and it wasn’t something that I thought I would like as much. You see, I love books. I love the feel of them, the smell of them, and just everything about them. My husband bought me a kindle for my birthday about two years ago now and since then I have devoured some many amazing books that I never would have had the pleasure to enjoy. So many of the books have been free too. I have discovered some really talented writers and I just couldn’t imagine life without my kindle now.

Working For Yourself and Illness

self employted and sickness

Yesterday morning I pulled a muscle in my neck and let me tell you, the pain is excruciating. It’s a constant pain and you wouldn’t believe how much you actually move your head during the course of the day. I was so grateful that yesterday was a bank holiday and that my husband was at home to help. There was no school and no work to be done. I did however do some research into neck muscle stains and how to relieve the pain. It turns out there are five different acupressure points that you can stimulate to relieve the pain, and again I was so grateful that it was a bank holiday and Joe was at home to help me with this. I spent the day doing neck stretches and resting.
