I’m beyond thrilled to announce that my story, The Book with No Name, has been accepted for publication in Owl Hollow Press’s upcoming Cabinet of Curiosities anthology.
The Cabinet of Curiosities Anthology will explore tales of oddities, gadgets, and trinkets, and I’m super excited that The Book with No Name will be included.
Owl Hollow Press is one of my favourite independent publishers and I’ve read most of the books they’ve published to date. They publish Adult, Young Adult, and Middle-Grade fiction as well as an anthology every year. I was thrilled to have my short story Moonlight Magic accepted for publication in the 2018 Anthology Under the Full Moon’s Light alongside some fantastic award-winning authors. I can’t wait to read the stories included in Cabinet of Curiosities as well.
The Book with No Name
This short story is just under 7,500 words and my protagonist is Molly, a 94-year-old woman with a secret to tell. Readers can join her as she ventures into the land of faery to confront an old enemy, King Finnbhearr, and return a book that grants wishes. All magic, however, comes with a price and the price for ?? is revealed in the telling of her story. Can she outwit the demon hidden within the pages of her book, or will her family be tormented forever? Will Finnbhearr forgive her betrayal or has he a punishment of his own to dish out.
If you enjoy old Irish fairytales, The Book with No Name, is for you. This isn’t the cover 🙂 This is just a little something I created to add some colour and give you an idea of the tone of the story.
The Cabinet of Curiosities will be published in October 2019 and you’ll find more information about this by following Owl Hollow Press on their social media channels. Be sure to check out their website too for information on all the amazing books they’ve published so far.
Until next time,
Keep reading and writing,
