Who’s Your Writing Inspiration?

No matter what type of a writer you are, there is likely to be someone that has inspired you along the way. I love to write fantasy and inspirational pieces and have many people to thank for my love of this work. When I think of fantasy I think of books like The Never Ending Story which was one of my all time favourites. I loved the magic and the message that came across in the book. The little boy who was being told to stop believing in fantasy and to keep his feet on the ground. I loved how the author told of the “Nothing” which was tearing Fantasia apart. This “Nothing” was actually children no longer believing in magic and dreams.

Another fantasy writer that captured my attention was Terry Brooks. Reading his books and the fantasy novels of others is what inspired me to write in this genre. They awoke in me a dormant magic that now longs to tell its story. They inspired me to allow my creative mind to explore and put on paper things that we once believed true as children. It is a wonderful genre to write in and one that is still very popular today.

When writing non-fiction, I tend to veer towards inspirational works and I love being able to inspire with my words. I love creating content that brings hope or drives home and important message. Some of the people that have inspired me include, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Jack Canfield, Deepak Chopra, Paulo Cohelo and so many more. I love how their works inspire and make us think about like and how we approach it. It makes sense to me and this is something that I like to give back.

All writers get their inspiration and their love of a particular niche from somewhere and this is what shapes their writing. What I would like to do on my blog is begin sharing new and well known author works that have inspired me. I read a lot of new authors and download a lot of the free kindle titles that are available. What I plan to do is let my readers know of great new titles, books that contain a profound message and new authors that are worth reading.

I plan to do one review each week here on this blog and hope that it is something you will enjoy. If you have a book or an author that you would like to recommend, please feel free to do so in the comments and I will be sure to take a look. The purpose of this weekly post is to give back and show gratitude to authors that inspire me. I look forward to bring this to you and as mentioned, if there is someone you would like to show your gratitude for, please be sure to mention them in the comments.
