When Wishes Bleed by Casey L Bond – My Review

I’d been following the author’s pre-release posts and teasers for this book and couldn’t wait to read it. I’ve read a couple of books by this author already and have never been disappointed. She is now in my list of authors that I don’t hesitate to buy.

When Wishes Bleed tells the story of Sable daughter of Fate and Tauren the prince. When Sable reads his fortune, Fate shows her that his life is in danger and it is up to her to save him. The Prince is due to choose a bride and Sable being a witch cannot marry. Witches hand-fast for one year, devoting themselves to their partner during this time. With his life in danger, the Prince extends an invitation to Sable to be one of the women he will choose his bride from. Sable agrees as it is the only way she can protect him from the danger he faces.

I won’t spoil the story by giving anything away, but I will say this is a fabulous story and one that you won’t want to end. There’s action, magic, evil, mystery, and of course, love woven through the pages and written superbly too. Ms Bond has a way with words that draw you in and don’t let you go. The descriptions are so visual that I felt like I was there in the Palace and in the Gallows.

I fell in love with the characters even Fate himself towards the end. The side characters Brecan and Mira are the perfect accompaniment for Sable and I enjoyed reading about them all. Sable’s story is unique and this story is one that will stay with me for quite some time. I actually didn’t want it to end.

It is a definite 5 stars from me, and if you enjoy magic and witches and romance, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
